The Unsettling Uniform Situation - Zainab

Hello there, I'm Zainab and today I will be showing you a debate script me and Naba made for English. 
Before I go ahead, I will introduce you to our names and new nicknames.

Naba = Nobs (gobs replacement)

Zainab = Zobs (gob replacement)

Maryam = Mito (short for mitochondria, cells coming up soon)

Aaliya = Alito (to rhyme with Mito). 

There. Now let's read this thing!!

 The Unsettling Uniform Situation 

(and it’s marvelous solution) 

Zobs: ughh I wanted to wear my favourite T shirt but because of these extremely strict rules i can’t. I don’t really like the idea of school uniforms because we can’t really express our styles 

Nobs: Why do you think that way? Honestly, I think that uniforms could make us more organized and work efficiently, they portray our style marvelously.  

Zobs: That may be true, but our clothes display a lot about our personality and uniform ruins the vibe 

Nobs: We can match our style! You know, we can wear bracelets, hairclips, jumpers and so many other things, isn’t it? 

Zobs: Not all schools allow that plus the accessories don’t really compare to the freedom of choosing our outfits you know? 

Nobs: Yeah, but have you considered the fact that some people might show up in the oddest of clothes that can totally be a distraction? Don’t you think that if there weren’t any uniforms, there would be zero discipline – imagine people had a style of extremely comfy clothing and showed up to school in pajamas! That would be horrid.  

Zobs: true that would look ridiculous. Maybe there should be a way to have a dress code that is decent and doesn’t go overboard 

Nobs: That’s an incredible point, however when there aren’t any uniforms, people would look odd and out of place. Uniforms create a sense of unity and make everyone look equal without judging them based on what they wear.  

Zobs: Yeah, I agree so, maybe there should be a simple dress code like specific colors and styles. This way everybody can still express themselves without looking disunited and disoriented.  

Nobs: What if that is more cost-consuming than uniforms? Some children might also go to the extent of buying expensive clothes just to fit in.  

Zobs: You’re right, totally, but what if schools had better uniform options, like the gob style! OMG that should be implemented everywhere!! 

Nobs: Wait, I thought this was already implemented, here’s how my uniform looks!
